📖 Every video on KidsTok is checked before any child sees it. These are the rules those checks follow, so you know exactly what gets a video published, held or removed.
1. Who Can Post
Only approved creators can upload. You apply once, and our team reviews every application by hand.
The first time you open your channel, the app asks you to set a parent passcode. Uploading is behind it from then on.
Your display name and profile photo are checked too. If a new one isn't right for children, it isn't shown and your previous one stays.
Your profile photo can be you, your family, your pet, a drawing or a logo. It just has to be a real picture with nothing sexual or frightening in it.
2. Upload Basics
Videos can be up to 30 seconds long and 50 MB.
Titles can be up to 60 characters.
Pick the category that really fits. The scanner checks it, and moves the video if another category fits better. Learning, Science & Experiments and DIY & How-To are strict: the video has to really teach.
Videos tagged "Other" are always checked by a person before they go live, so pick a real category if one fits.
3. Only Post Videos You Made
Post videos you filmed, animated or made yourself.
A video saved from TikTok, Instagram, Kwai or any other app carries that app's watermark. The scanner spots it and removes the video automatically. Upload your original file instead.
Don't post clips from films, TV shows or other people's channels, or famous characters you don't own.
Only use music you have the right to use.
4. Post Each Video Once
Upload each video one time. A second copy is removed automatically, even if it has been trimmed or renamed.
If three of your uploads are removed as copies within 24 hours, uploading is paused for 24 hours.
If your video matches another creator's video, it is held for a person to check, so nobody's work is taken down by mistake.
5. Never Allowed
These are removed automatically, whatever the context:
Anything sexual or suggestive, including suggestive dancing, clothing or camera angles
Nudity beyond ordinary moments like a nappy change or normal swimwear
Real violence, fighting, blood, injuries, cruelty to people or animals, or weapons used to threaten
Well-known children's characters shown in violent, adult or disturbing situations
Horror: jump scares, gore, or anything made to frighten
Alcohol, smoking, vaping, drugs or gambling
Swearing, slurs, hate speech, or mocking a group of people
Bullying or cruel pranks played for laughs
Asking for personal details, pushing children to message or meet you, or showing a child's school or location
Dangerous challenges or stunts shown as fun to copy, like fire play or eating things that aren't food
Self-harm, suicide or eating-disorder content
6. Welcome on KidsTok
Kids' videos are allowed to be real. All of these are fine:
Babies and toddlers being babies: messy eating, crawling, a gentle tumble
Supervised play at a pool, beach, playground or park
Cooking and crafts, including knives, scissors, glue and paint
Slapstick and cartoon chases, like classic children's animation
Animals playing, chasing and play-fighting
A little danger inside a story, as long as it ends well
Sad or serious feelings handled gently
Religious and cultural content, in any language
Simple phone footage. Good lighting and editing are nice, but not required.
7. Titles
Titles are checked on their own, before the video is.
Titles about sex, self-harm, extremism or hate get the video removed.
Titles with suggestive words, violence, weapons, horror, drugs, alcohol, gambling, swearing, contact details, other apps or clickbait hold the video for a person to check. Words like "fight", "knife", "haunted" or "zombie" count, even as a joke.
Never put contact details or other apps in a title, like WhatsApp, Snapchat, "DM me" or "add me on".
No clickbait like "free Robux" or "free money".
8. After You Post
Most videos are checked within a few minutes, and you get a notice when yours is live.
If a video is removed, the notice tells you why. Fix that and post again.
If a video is held, a person checks it before it goes live.
If processing fails or takes more than a day, you get a notice saying "Upload didn't finish". Nothing is wrong with the video. Just upload it again.
9. Reports and Your Account
Anyone watching can report a video.
A report about a child's safety hides the video straight away while our team looks at it. If it turns out to be fine, it comes back.
Other videos are hidden once enough people report them, then reviewed.
Videos from verified creators, or with lots of views, are checked by a person before anything is hidden.
Creators who keep breaking these rules get a warning in their inbox. After three warnings the account can be banned, and serious cases are banned straight away. A ban hides every video on the channel.
